The 2011 Schug Carneros Estate Pinot Noir has a beautiful nose full of smoked meat, pine, thyme and red currant. It is a medium bodied, dry/off-dry, fruity wine; bit disconnected with some heat, good acidity, refined tannins and a medium finish. This is a food friendly wine; drink now – 2017. My impression: NICE, 88-89 pts.

The 2012 Paul Hobbs Pinot Noir, sourced from the Russian River Valley, has captivating aromas of cigar box, oak, almond, vanilla and black cherry on the nose and black cherry and lightly stewed dates on the palate. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry/dry, fruity wine; with checked/lacking acidity, refined tannins and a long finish. It is a sipping wine; drink now – 2017. My impression: NICE, 89 pts.

The 2011 Francis Ford Coppola Director’s Cut Zinfandel, from Dry Creek in Sonoma, has attractive aromas of blackberry, black cherry and vanilla on both the nose and palate. It is a medium to full bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with good acidity, dusty tannins and a medium to long, smooth finish. This party favorite is a food friendly and sipping wine; drink now – 2020. My impression: quite NICE, 90 pts – recommended for its quality.

The 2010 Ironstone Rous Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel, sourced from Lodi from vines planted in 1909, has concentrated nose full of pine, clove, blackberry, figs, black cherry, oak and faint leather aromas. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, integrated wine; BALANCED with good acidity, refined, dusty tannins and a long, smooth, silky finish. Enjoy this wine on-its-own; drink now – 2020. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 92 pts – recommended for both, its quality and value.

The 2011 Ravenswood Old Vine Zinfandel, sourced from Lodi, has intense aromas of red currant and oak on the nose and plum and dates on the palate. It is a medium bodied, dry, fruity wine; with very good, refreshing acidity, refined tannins and a medium to long finish. This is a food friendly wine; drink now and for the next 5 years. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 89-90 pts.

The 2011 Kenwood Zinfandel, sourced from Sonoma County, has attractive aromas cigar box, tobacco, vanilla, sour cherry, red currant and pine on the nose and red currant, dates, oak and vanilla on the palate. It is a medium bodied, dry, fruity wine; with refreshing acidity, dusty tannins and a medium finish. This is a food friendly and sipping wine; drink now and for the next 3-5 years. My impression: NICE, 89 pts.

The 2012 Geyser Peak XY Old Vine Zinfandel has notes of strawberry, raspberry and blackberry on the nose and cranberry, pomegranate and raspberry on the palate. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with crisp acidity, dusty tannins and a medium finish. Drink this wine with food; now to 2018. My impression: NICE, 87-88 pts.

The 2011 Renwood Premier Old Vine Zinfandel, from Amador County, has alluring bouquet of eucalyptus, toasted oak, blackberry, and vanilla on the nose and the same plus raspberry and pomegranate on the palate. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, integrated wine; BALANCED with good acidity, refined tannins and a long and smooth finish. Enjoy this wine on-its-own; drink now to 2025. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 90-91 pts – though heavily influenced by oak, recommended for its quality.

The 2011 Pedroncelli Zinfandel, sourced from Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma, has seductive aromas of leather, barnyard, old wood, pine, vanilla and blackberry on the nose and dates, blackberry and vanilla on the palate. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with refreshing acidity, refined tannins and a long and silky finish. Sip this wine on-its-own; drink now to 2020+. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 91 pts – recommended for its quality.

The 2012 Hann Estates Boneshaker Zinfandel, sourced from Lodi, has concentrated aromas of almond, blackcurrant, bilberry, strawberry and stemmy red currant on the nose and red fruit, vanilla and oak on the palate. It is a medium bodied, dry, fruity wine; with good acidity, refined tannins and a long and smooth finish. This is a food friendly and sipping wine; drink now to 2020. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 90-91 pts – recommended for its quality.

It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with refreshing acidity, refined/dusty tannins and a long and silky finish. Enjoy this heavily oak influenced wine on-its-own; drink now to 2018+. This is a food friendly and sipping wine; drink now to 2020+. My impression: NICE, 89 pts.

It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, integrated wine; with refreshing acidity, refined tannins and a medium to long finish. This is a food friendly and sipping wine; drink now to 2020. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts – recommended for quality.

It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with checked acidity, dusty/grippy tannins and a medium to long finish. This is both, food friendly and sipping wine; drink now to 2018+. My impression: NICE, 89 pts.

The 2011 Delicato Family Vineyards Black Stallion Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from Napa Valley, has pleasing aromas of eucalyptus, wood, black cherry and vanilla on the nose and red currant and raspberry on the palate. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with refreshing acidity, grippy tannins and a long and silky finish. Enjoy this one as a sipping wine; drink now to 2025. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 91 pts – recommended for its quality.

The 2011 Somerston Estate Priest Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from Napa Valley, has alluring bouquet of pine, oak, eucalyptus, anise, coconut and sweet vanilla notes on the nose and black cherry cola blackberry, coconut and vanilla on the palate. It is a medium to full bodied, extra-dry, fruity to integrated wine; with good acidity, drying tannins and a long finish. This is a food friendly and sipping wine; cellar for few years (evolution potential of +1) drink 2017 to 2025. My impression: NICE, 90 pts.

The 2011 Signorello Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, composed of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18.5% Cabernet Franc and rest being made up the Merlot that was sourced from Napa Valley and aged in French Oak for 18 months, has subtle notes of stems, oak, barnyard and red currant on the nose and smoked meat, pomegranate and red currant on the palate. It is a light to medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with good acidity, tight tannins and a medium finish. This is a food friendly wine; cellar for few years (evolution potential of +1) drink 2016 to 2019. My impression: NICE, 88 pts.
